About the event
Using gemstones in your designs is a great but scary move, ensuring they stay in place but still display the gem to its best advantage can be taxing.
The workshop focuses on creating a woven setting that allows light into the back of the stone but holding it firmly so there is no movement. This particular setting, I call it the slipper setting because the shape reminds me of a slipper, can be used with many different shapes and sizes making it a wonderful tool in your jewellery making skills.
We will be using large genuine gemstones and sterling and fine silver to create our pendants. I will bring a choice of stones with me. If you have a particular favourite please contact me at the time of booking and I will try to get this for you (depending on price)
We will do a practice piece in copper first and then move onto the silver and gemstone
